On 12 May 2026, the UK Tsinghua Association and Schwarzman Scholars successfully co-hosted the third annual UKTA\u2013Schwarzman Scholars Global Affairs Forum at Chatham House, London.<\/p>\n

Held under the theme of global geopolitical and economic uncertainty, the forum brought together leading experts, policymakers, scholars, and students for timely discussions on international affairs, technological transformation, and global cooperation. The event attracted over one hundred participants from academia, think tanks, government, and industry across the UK, Europe, China, and beyond, generating lively and thoughtful exchanges throughout the evening.<\/p>\n

The keynote session and subsequent fireside conversation, moderated by Yuan Gao, explored a broad range of issues concerning international politics, US\u2013China relations, Europe\u2019s global position, technological competition, and AI governance. Participants engaged actively during the Q&A session, contributing thoughtful questions and perspectives from different academic and professional backgrounds.<\/span><\/p>\n

The second half of the forum featured a panel discussion moderated by Nitya Labh, Schwarzman Academy Fellow at Chatham House and Schwarzman Scholar. Distinguished panellists included Martin Griffiths, former UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator; Jonathan Black, former UK Deputy National Security Adviser; Dorota Lost-Sieminska, Director of Legal Affairs and External Relations at the International Maritime Organization (IMO); and Professor Dabo Guan of Tsinghua University and University College London.<\/span><\/p>\n
