Hosted in collaboration with the UK Tsinghua Association, Asia Society France, and Schwarzman College, this fireside chat will feature Alex in conversation with management consultant Pengfei Chen.
Together, they will explore Alex’s extraordinary journey from his beginnings as a young athlete in Lewisham, London, to his rise as a global sports icon. As both an Olympic champion and an accomplished distance runner, Alex shall offer profound insights into leadership, resilience, and the pursuit of excellence across disciplines.
This unique event provides attendees the rare chance to hear firsthand about Alex’s experiences at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he clinched gold in the Men’s Triathlon and bronze in the Mixed Relay—adding to his already remarkable Olympic achievements from Tokyo 2020.

Feature Speaker
Alex Yee
Alex is the 2024 Olympic and World Triathlon Champion. Born in Lewisham, south London, he started his triathlon journey at Crystal Palace aged 9. He gained early recognition for his running ability representing Great Britain at cross country and latterly on the track.
He bounced back from an horrific bike crash in 2017 and finished his studies at Leeds Beckett University to qualify for Tokyo 2020, winning Silver in the Individual triathlon and bringing home the Gold in the Mixed Relay.
In what is being described a one of the ‘moments of the Games’, Alex went one better in Paris, winning Gold in the Individual race, and then became the most decorated Olympic triathlete of all time, when Britain won the Mixed Relay bronze medal.
